Randomized Clinical Trial for Knee Osteoarthritis – PRP (platelet rich plasma) vs. Hyaluronic Acid Intra-articular Injections



Clinical Trial Protocol Description

If a patient meets inclusion criteria, he or she will be randomized to either the PRP or the hyaluronic acid treatment group. Patients receive three total injections total over a course of three weeks. They will have three additional office visits after they have received all injections and will participate in the study for a total of six months. Overall, patients are required to complete six office visits over a course of six months. This is a blinded study, and the identity of the injection given will not be revealed until the last study office visit.



Clinical Trial Eligibility Criteria

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Experiencing knee pain
  • Have not had surgery within the past six months
  • Must have medical insurance
