BACE1 Inhibitor Treatment Study in Individuals with MCI and Mild Alzheimer's Disease
The purpose of this eight-month study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an experimental drug compared to placebo when given to people with mild cognitive impairment or Alzheimer's disease. At Rush University Medical Center, we anticipate recruiting approximately 10 people. Treatment or matching placebo will be assigned randomly.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:
- Are 55 years of age or older
- Have a diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or Alzheimer's disease
- Have a study partner willing to accompany you to all study visits
You will be excluded from this study if you:
- Are unwilling or unable to undergo all study procedures (including MRI, PET and lumbar puncture)
- Have medical conditions that are not stable or that require adjustments of your medications
