Lifelong Learning Opportunities
Rush Generations takes pride in the high-caliber lectures, workshops and classes we offer. With input from members, we develop a quarterly calendar of educational programs — ranging from individual lectures to workshops spanning several weeks — that are tailored to member interests. Popular topics include the following:
- Treatments and advances in top medical issues for older adults
- Maximizing your memory
- Family and caregiver education
- Understanding Medicare
- Mind-body wellness and relaxation
- Daily management of health and well-being
You can also learn about all of these topics and more through our health and aging resource centers. The resource centers house books for your reference and brochures to take home on a wide range of topics related to aging and caregiving. At the centers, you can also meet one-on-one with a social worker to create a personalized plan for a healthy future.
Caregiver Support
If you are caring for a relative or friend, Rush Generations membership can be a valuable resource for you. We provide a range of specialized services for caregivers, including support groups, workshops and referrals to helpful services in the community. Join Rush Generations today to take advantage of this unique, comprehensive resource.
Volunteer Opportunities
Being involved in Rush Generations can open doors to meaningful volunteer opportunities. Our volunteers provide coaching to those who want to be more computer-savvy through the Connected Living program; they receive training to become a leader of one of our health management workshops, including A Matter of Balance and Take Charge of Your Diabetes; and they serve on Health and Aging’s Consumer Advisory Council.

Support Us
Philanthropy plays a critical role in Rush University Medical Center’s ability to sustain and advance patient care. Thanks to generous donors, we can ensure the most advanced education for physicians, nurses and clinical staff; invest in new research and technology; and offer comprehensive, compassionate patient care.
Philanthropy also provides our community with life-enhancing programs such as those offered through Rush Health and Aging. While Rush Health and Aging is funded by a variety of sources, it’s thoughtful gifts from individuals and the community that enable us to offer such a wide range of programs and services to older adults and caregivers.
If you would like to make a difference in the lives of others, please contact Tim Larson in the Office of Philanthropy at (312) 942-9287, or contribute online.
Our team of skilled and compassionate professionals is available in person, via email and through our toll-free help line to assist members with accessing their benefits, solving problems, finding information and making decisions relating to their health and well-being.
In addition, the geriatric medicine program at Rush, which is consistently ranked among the nation’s best by U.S. News & World Report, offers expert medical care and geriatric assessments.
