Anthony Zelazny, MD, is director of musculoskeletal imaging in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at Rush University Medical Center. He is an assistant professor and has been at Rush since 2004.
Zelazny completed his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois in Champagne-Urbana, receiving a B.S. degree in 1988. He received a medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1992 and completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the Mallinckrodt Institute in 1996. His fellowship at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, completed in 1997, was in musculoskeletal radiology.
Sports injuries are among his primary areas of interests, and he has been involved in research projects on patello-femoral disease in professional basketball players, as well as gender differences in patellar tendon length in harvest for ACL reconstruction. Other interests include pediatric bone mineral loss and alternative imaging technologies for evaluation of cartilage.
