Dean Elias, MD, is an assistant professor at Rush University Medical Center in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology. He is part of the Section of Neuroradiology.
He received his medical degree from Northwestern University in 1978. After completing his radiology residency at Rush University Medical Center in 1982, he completed a fellowship in neuroradiology at Northwestern. He has previously practiced at the University of Minnesota, Loyola University and the Chicago Institute of Neurosurgery and Neuroresearch. He has been at Rush for seven years.
Elias practices all facets of neuroradiology. He has a special interest in spine imaging and minimally invasive spine procedures. He has expertise in image-guided biopsies, discography, epidural steroid injections and nerve blocks.
Elias was director of neuroradiology at CINN for 15 years prior to coming to Rush. He has written book chapters and collaborates with clinical services on research publications.
