|Dr. Amjad Ali || |
Amjad Ali, MD, is director of the Section of Nuclear Medicine and the Nuclear Medicine Residency program at Rush University Medical Center in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. He is a professor of diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine at Rush Medical College.
He received the MBBS degree from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India, in 1967. After completing a residency in internal medicine at L.A. Weiss Memorial Hospital Chicago in 1973, he did a fellowship in nuclear medicine at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in 1975. He was certified by American Board of Nuclear Medicine in 1976 and the American Board of Nuclear Cardiology in 1996. He has been on the faculty at Rush since 1975.
Ali has expertise in all aspects of diagnostic and therapy applications of nuclear medicine. He is interested in the fields of nuclear cardiology and positron imaging tomography, including CT-PET imaging and radio-immnunotherapy.
Ali has been awarded the “Teacher of the Year” award by residents in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine more than six times, most recently in 2006. He was recognized for teaching excellence by cardiology fellows in 2006. Ali has written more than 135 articles, including peer-reviewed papers, case reports and book chapters, and has coauthored two volumes of “Atlas of Total Body Radionuclide Imaging.” He has collaborated with clinical departments on many research publications, multicenter investigational studies and drug trials.
