This study is comparing two FDA-approved medications to treat anxiety in subjects with a partial seizure disorder.

This study is comparing two FDA-approved medications to treat anxiety in subjects with a partial seizure disorder.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

• Have partial seizure disorder established by EEG study
• Display symptoms of anxiety
• Are 18 to 80 years of age
• Are able to read at a fourth-grade level
• Are able to maintain a seizure diary
• Agree to use an acceptable method of contraception if you are a female and of child-bearing age
• Are willing to comply with dosing of study drug, other antiepileptic medications and all study procedures

You will be excluded from this study if you:

• Have non-epileptic seizures
• Have a current significant medical condition other than the seizure disorder
• Have a history of drug or alcohol abuse within the past five years
• Are currently taking an antidepressant
• Have used any investigational drug within the past 30 days
• Are displaying current suicidal ideation
