Leonard A. Valentino, MD, a physician with more than 25 years of experience with bleeding and clotting disorders, is director of the Section of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. Valentino also directs the Hemophilia and Thrombophilia Treatment Center.
- Allen Korenblit, MD, brings more than 20 years experience to the treatment of pediatric blood disorders and cancer. Korenblit directs the Sickle Cell Disease Program, the Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcoma Program and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Disease Program.

Our faculty members belong to the Children's Oncology Group, a National Cancer Institute-supported clinical trials cooperative group devoted exclusively to childhood and adolescent cancer research. The research includes phase I, II and III studies involving patients with a variety of cancers, including Ewing sarcoma, Hodgkin's disease, leukemia, Wilms tumor, medulloblastoma, neuroblastoma and lymphoma. Allen Korenblit, MD, is principal investigator at Rush for the pediatric oncology group.
