A comparison of two FDA-approved medications to treat anxiety in subjects with epilepsy
This study is comparing to FDA-approved medications to treat anxiety in subjects with a partial seizure disorder.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:
- Have a partial seizure disorder established by EEG study
- Have symptoms of anxiety
- Are between 18 to 80 years of age
- Are able to read at a fourth-grade level
- Are able to maintain a seizure diary
- Are a female and of child-bearing age and agree to use an acceptable method of contraception
- Are willing to comply with dosing of study drug, other antiepileptic medications and all study procedures
You will be excluded from this study if you:
- Have non-epileptic seizures
- Have a current significant medical condition other than the seizure disorder
- Have a history of drug or alcohol abuse within the past five years
- Are currently taking an antidepressant
- Had the use of any investigational drug within the past 30 days
- Are displaying current suicidal ideation
