ADVANCED-PD Study



Clinical Trial Protocol Description

The ADVANCE-PD Study evaluates whether an investigational long-acting form of a currently marketed oral medication for Parkinson's Disease may improve Parkinson's symptoms. If you agree to participate, you will be one of up to 420 subjects to participate study-wide (one of up to six subjects at Rush). Study participation will last up to 26 weeks and you will be required to come to Rush for at least eight study visits.



Clinical Trial Eligibility Criteria

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Have been at least 30 years old at the time of PD diagnosis
  • Are taking carbidopa-levodopa (e.g. Sinemet)
  • Are able to differentiate between "on" and "off" states
  • Are able to provide written consent and attend study visits

You will be excluded from this study if you:

  • Have atypical parkinsonism
  • Are non-responsive to levodopa treatment
  • Have had prior PD surgery
