Staff chaplains at Rush are certified by the  Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, or the National Association of Jewish Chaplains. Supervisors of student chaplains are also certified by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. Resident chaplains and chaplain interns are enrolled in a nationally accredited program in Clinical Pastoral Education that has been operating at Rush for over 30 years.

Unit Chaplains

Chaplains at Rush come from a variety of religious backgrounds and are endorsed by their particular faith communities. The chaplains represent a variety of denominations and include a Roman Catholic priest, an Imam and a Rabbi. None of our chaplains, however, works exclusively with one faith group. They serve everyone and help people access the resources of their own spirituality or religious tradition in the process of healing.
