Since 1984, the HIV Treatment Program in the Section of Infectious Diseases at Rush University Medical Center has led the way in treating patients infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Our research includes immunologic and virologic studies of progressive HIV infection, as well as therapies for opportunistic infections. Currently, we continue to conduct new therapeutic and prophylactic studies sponsored by both pharmaceutical companies and the federal government.
