Soo Kwon, MD, earned her doctor of medicine degree at the University of Illinois. She then completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University of Cincinnati. Following completion of her residency, she practiced in Baltimore and New York City for five years. Dr. Kwon then decided to specialize in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery and completed a three-year fellowship at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Kwon is currently serving as an assistant professor at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago in the department of obstetrics gynecology. She spends a significant portion of her time teaching residents at Rush in the evaluation and treatment of female pelvic disorders. She specializes in correction of urinary incontinence, anal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, rectovaginal and vesicovaginal fistula. Dr. Kwon travels to Africa annually as a member of International Fistula Project with a team of urogynecologists, colorectal surgeons and urologists to treat fistulas and plans on continuing this project.
