| Mission and Goals
The mission of the Rush University Diabetes center is to provide the highest quality of comprehensive and coordinated diabetes self-management education. It is out belief that by fostering an increase in knowledge base will help empower the person with diabetes to manage their diabetes better. With better management, the person with diabetes may be able to delay or prevent complications of diabetes, thus being about to achieve optimum health.
Goals of the Rush University Diabetes Center include:
- To provide patient with diabetes and their families and/ or support system the educational content related to the National standard content areas as appropriately determined
- To maintain educational records that document individualized assessments related to the National standard content areas, educational plan with learning and behavioral objectives, interventions, evaluation and team collaboration
- To keep track of participant's behavioral and clinical outcomes as part of a continuous quality improvement process to evaluated the effectiveness of the diabetes education services.
