The Rush University Asthma Center provides specialized asthma care for both children and adults. Our mission is to help people of all ages live, work, and play without interference from their asthma. Our center offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary care, and services which extend beyond a routine doctor's office visit. The Asthma Center's goal is to ensure that patients, families and communities have the skills and tools they need to manage their asthma.
The Center consists of a group of multidisciplinary health care providers committed to state-of-the-art interventions in treatment, research, and education. Since health conditions such as allergies, sinus problems, acid reflux, and the stress of living with asthma can contribute to asthma symptoms, patients will be connected with the specialty services they need. The Asthma Center specialist team works closely to develop comprehensive, individualized plans of asthma care. In addition to treatments/medical interventions, the Asthma Center team provides educational experiences for patients, their families, and community.
In the clinic, patients will receive intensive one-on-one and group educational sessions, so they may learn problem solving skills and better manage their asthma. Patients will also have the opportunity to participate in research projects to further current asthma knowledge. Beyond the clinic, The Asthma Center team works to educate the community on how to help those with asthma by visits to schools and workplaces.
