Program Description The Adolescent Clinic, located in Evergreen Park, Illinois, has been providing pregnancy and STD, HIV/AIDS prevention education and access to gynecological and contraceptive services to southwest Chicagoland adolescent and young adults since 1974. Focusing on prevention education and services, the Adolescent Clinic has minimized risk-taking behaviors, decreased the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases and reduced the incidence of unplanned and unwanted pregnancy in over 22,000 adolescent and young adults.
Education, Counseling and Other Services Provided
- Annual Gynecological Exam
Blood pressure, height, weight, anemia testing, breast exam (including self breast exam instruction), urinalysis, pelvic exam, pap smear, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, vaginal and urinary tract infections testing and treatment
- Pregnancy Services
Pregnancy prevention education, testing, options, referral, preconceptional health, family planning, infertility I services
All education, counseling and services provided are confidential and based on a sliding scale.
Clinical Team
Gary R. Strokosch is the Medical Director of the Department of Pediatric Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine’s Adolescent Clinic. Other staff members include pediatric residents, medical and nurse practitioner students, administrative and clerical staff from Rush University Medical Center.
