Rush Among Nation’s Top Hospitals

Rush university Medical center recently earned rankings in seven specialty areas in the July 2008 “America’s Best Hospitals” issue of U.S.News & World Report, which annually rates the top hospitals across the country for 16 medical specialties.

Rush ranked higher than any other hospital in Illinois in orthopedics and had an additional six programs in the top 50: neurology and neurosurgery, geriatrics, kidney disease, urology, digestive disorders, and heart and heart surgery.

In addition, Rush was again named among the top five academic medical centers in the country by University Health-System Consortium, an alliance of nearly all U.S. academic medical centers, in its annual quality and accountability performance ranking. Rush was one of only two hospitals in the nation to be named in the top 10 for all four years of the study.
