Telephone Resources and Assistance for Caregivers (TRAC)
Investigators in the College of Nursing are looking for family caregivers for a new research study. This study will test the effectiveness of an 18-month multi-component health promotion intervention with family caregivers for persons with Alzheimer’s disease. Study participants will engage in six interviews and twenty intervention contacts. All contacts will be arranged at your convenience and conducted in your home or by telephone. No visits to Rush University Medical Center are required for this study. If you are interested in this study, please contact Dr. Caryn Etkin at 312-942-5242.
Study staff will conduct a brief screening interview to see if you meet eligibility criteria, and if eligible, will set up a baseline interview in your home.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

Are 40 years old or older

Are caring for a family member with Alzheimer’s Disease

Are providing at least 10 hours of care each week for at least 6 months

Are willing to engage in behaviors that promote your own health and learn new caregiving skills
