Primary Biopsy Evaluation

We provide primary interpretation of gastrointestinal and liver biopsies. This is a complete evaluation similar to all our cases with any needed special stains or procedures and usual clinico-pathological correlative assessment. In selected cases, the reports include colored images of diagnostic findings. Any pertinent lab, imaging and other clinical data is extremely valuable in providing comprehensive consultation.   

How to Send Specimens

We provide, at our cost, a specially prepared biopsy kit containing formalin-filled jars, requisition form, and FedEx mailing instructions. For the Chicago area, we provide MedSpeed courier services. Please contact us at (312) 942-5227 for further information.

Result of Biopsy Evaluation

The results are faxed and/or e-mailed to the submitting physician in 24 to 48 hours after receiving the specimen. If requested, a courtesy phone call with result is made in every case. And in all discordant and clinically significant cases, a phone call is made to discuss the case with the submitting physician.
