| | | Patricia Prentice, MBA, RN | | Pat Prentice, RN, MBA, is the administrator for the Rush Perinatal Center. She has held this position for the past 11 years. Prior to working at Rush, she was director for maternal-child nursing and vice president of patient care at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Ill.
Ms. Prentice graduated with a BSN from Saint Xavier University and obtained her MBA from Illinois Benedictine University. The philosophy of providing excellent Level III care while maintaining the relationship of patients with their primary physicians at referral hospital governs the focus of the Rush Perinatal Center. Howard T. Strassner, MD, and Werner Meier, MD, codirectors of the center, are well known throughout Illinois as leaders in this approach to care.
Rapid feedback to primary physicians is an important responsibility of the Rush Perinatal Center. Whether mothers are transferred early in pregnancy, with imminent need of delivery, or whether infants are transferred after birth, the family will feel more connected and will be able to make plans for return to their home area care if their physicians are constantly updated on the status of care at Rush.
The Rush Perinatal Center takes great pride in having three Rush physicians chairing the State of Illinois Perinatal Committees. This commitment to leadership reflects in the care provided to patients and families.
