Nisha Bhateja
Nisha received her master’s degree in health finance and management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a bachelor of arts in psychology from the George Washington University. Prior to joining Rush, Nisha spent two years as a senior associate at H*Works of the Advisory Board in Washington, DC. In this position, she managed client engagements that focused on hospital operations, workforce recruitment and retention, staff productivity, and cost reduction.

As a fellow at Rush, she is working on various administrative projects across the medical center. A few major focuses throughout the year are analyzing and providing recommendations for perioperative throughput, assisting with the design development phase for the new hospital’s basement and logistics plan, and implementing workflow and technology opportunities for the recently implemented first phase of Rush’s electronic health record.

Gauri Shah
Gauri received her master's degree in public health from the Yale School of Public Health and a bachelor of arts degree in biological sciences from Northwestern University. During her time at Yale, Gauri interned Griffin Hospital in Derby, Conn., where she worked on several quality improvement projects. She also served as co-director of the HAVEN Free Clinic pharmacy.

Her primary fellowship project is working with physician practice leadership to improve the ambulatory patient flow and the ambulatory patient experience at Rush. She is also working with a design development task force to develop the new service and care standards for patient care in the new hospital. Finally, Gauri is working with the advisory group that is implementing enterprise-wide patient scheduling during the next phase of our electronic health record implementation.
