| | | Maria Reyes, RNC, CNP | | Maria R. Reyes, RNC, CNP, is clinical coordinator of the Rush Fetal and Neonatal Medicine Program. Maria has always emphasized women’s health, in particular, helping women during their pregnancies. She began her career in low-risk obstetrics, assisting women through the journey of giving birth. Early in her career, she taught Lamaze-prepared childbirth to many couples, always emphasizing the parents and how to make their experience the best experience for them.
Upon completion of her advanced degrees (bachelor's & master's degrees), she branched out into the care of women with an identified high-risk pregnancy. As a perinatal nurse practitioner and women's health care nurse practitioner, she was able to care for families during a joyous yet stressful time in their lives. Still, her personal philosophy always focused on the parents, making their experience the best for them.
Today, Maria works with families who have a prenatal diagnosis of fetal concern. She is able to help families navigate issues they never thought they would face. She sees many similarities among the families she has served, and the central focus still remains the cornerstone of this program: Engaging with families to make this the best experience for them.
