A phase III, multi-center, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of inductions and maintenance therapy with abatacept in subjects with active Crohn’s disease (CD) who have had an inadequate clinical response and/or intolerance to medical therapy
This study will test the efficacy and safety of the study drug compared to placebo. This study involves three phases: induction, maintenance and extension. Participants will be randomized to receive either the active study drug or placebo for the induction and maintenance phases. In the extension phase, participants will receive active treatment. The induction period may last for up to 85 days. The maintenance period may last for up to 365 days (one year). The extension phase may last until the study drug is marketed for Crohn’s disease.
