| | | State-of-the-Art Electrophysiology Laboratory (Dedicated in October 2005) | | A Proven Leader in Electrical Therapy
The electrophysiology team at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, has a long established reputation as a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. We implanted one of the world’s first indwelling cardiac pacemakers in 1965, and in 2000, we were one of the first centers in Illinois to implant a biventricular pacemaker.
October 2005 marked another milestone for the Rush electrophysiology program. The opening of two state-of-the-art EP laboratories allows us to offer the latest advances in diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology (including catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation), cardiac imaging and implantable cardiac device technologies.
Electrophysiology NOW!
Important life-saving information for referring physicians treating patients with heart failure (HF) and an ejection fraction (EF) of 35 percent or less: New indications for prevention of sudden cardiac death and the treatment of life-threatening arrhythmias using implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs).
The Rush Difference
The electrophysiology program at Rush partners with referring physicians to ensure patients are seen promptly, usually within 48 hours. We specialize in treating patients with complex problems and pride ourselves on providing patients the same compassion and dedication we would offer to a member of our own family. We promptly communicate the results of the procedure to referring physicians’ offices and are readily available for follow-up questions pertaining to ongoing patient management.
