Giving to Rush Planned Giving - Charitable Gift Annuities
  • The oldest, simplest and most popular of the charitable life-income plans.

  • In exchange for an irrevocable gift of cash or approved marketable property to the Medical Center, Rush promises to pay a fixed amount annually to you or your designated beneficiary for life.

  • You'll receive generous fixed payments annually (or more frequently if desired) that will never vary in amount.

  • The amount of your payment is a percentage of your gift determined by the beneficiary’s age and other factors at the time your gift is funded.

  • You can also choose to name another person – typically a spouse, parent, or sibling – to receive payments with you, instead of you, or following your lifetime for the remainder of his or her life.

  • Income tax benefits - because your gift is irrevocable, you will be entitled to an immediate income tax charitable deduction for a portion of your contribution. In addition, part of each annual payment is tax-free for the period of time equal to your life expectancy.

  • Estate tax benefits – Your taxable estate is generally reduced by the value of the assets used to fund your gift annuity.

  • FYI - in a few highly regulated states, Rush is not authorized to offer charitable gift annuities. Contact us for more information.
