Rush University Medical Center has committed to the process of transformation in creating a more supportive academic home for translational research through the development of the Rush Translational Sciences Consortium (RTSC). The consortium involves investigators, educators and administrators from Rush University Medical Center, the Cook County Bureau of Health Services and Illinois Institute of Technology and medical imaging technology firm Kitware, Inc. This consortium is among the largest health care delivery organizations in the nation, with well over 1.5 million ambulatory visits each year. Our patient population includes an urban and ethnically diverse community. Access to such populations is vital to the conduct of clinical trails leading to major public health impact.
