Schizophrenia maintenance: a long-term safety and efficacy study in the treatment of schizophrenia



Clinical Trial Protocol Description

The primary objective of this 52-week study is to determine if flexible doses of an experimental medication are safe in the long-term treatment of schizophrenia. The secondary objective is to assess the maintenance of efficacy of the experimental drug in the treatment of schizophrenia.



Clinical Trial Eligibility CriteriaYou may be eligible for this study if you:
  • Are a man or woman between the ages of 18 and 75
  • Agree to be hospitalized for 10 days
  • Have a primary diagnosis of schizophrenia
  • Have had no substance or alcohol abuse for six months prior to baseline
  • Are in stable physical health
