Hip Osteoarthritis Study

Rheumatologists at Rush University Medical Center are looking for volunteers to participate in a research study looking at the effects of osteoarthritis in one hip on the knees.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

• Have had hip pain in one hip for at least two years
• Have endstage (severe) osteoarthritis of the hip

You will be excluded from this study if you:

• Need an assistant device to walk (ex: cane, walker)
• Have moderate to severe knee pain and/or pain in the opposite hip
• Have history of rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, knee or hip replacement
• Have diabetes for more than 10 years or history of nerve problems effecting the legs
