Birth Center Tours
Prospective parents may tour the hospital's birth center by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. call (312) 942-2336. FOR evening and weekend tours call (312) 942-8733. Starting in OB Admitting, 6 Floor Jelke (Take "E" Elevator)

Basic Breastfeeding Class
Provides education, support and guidance for moms who are breastfeeding or deciding about breastfeeding. Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in room 615 Jones (Take "C" elevator to 6th floor). $25 a couple. Call (312) 942-2336 to register.

Cesarean Birth Class
Designed for couples anticipating a cesarean birth, the class covers the delivery, hospital stay, and physical and emotional changes that may be experienced. Every month (date varies), 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., $35. Call (312) 942-2336 to register.

Childbirth Education
Sessions focus on physical and emotional changes that occur during pregnancy, labor and delivery (both vaginal and cesarean delivery), relaxation methods, breathing techniques, nutritional needs, postpartum changes and newborn care. Instruction is provided by registered nurses certified childbirth educators. One weekend a month on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Includes a tour of birthing rooms. Fee: $110 for those delivering at Rush; $125 for those delivering elsewhere. Call (312) 942-2336 to register.

Infant/Child CPR classes
Class teaches the basics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Learn techniques to save a choking baby or child, basic infant and child CPR, and other safety tips. From 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on varying dates in Room 659 Pavilion (Take "C" elevator to 6th floor). Infant/Child CPR classes are $25 per person or $40 per couple. Call (312) 942-2336 to register.

Refresher Prenatal Class
For all couples who have completed childbirth classes within the last three years. This course is an intense review of breathing and relaxation techniques, coaching skills, and a condensed version of topics covered in the childbirth education classes. Class is offered every month (date varies), 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Fee is $35. Call (312) 942-2336 to register.

Sibling Class
Designed especially for children between the ages of three and 12 whose parents will soon deliver at Rush. A video, arts and crafts, and infant models are used to explain birth and care of the new baby. $15 per child or $25 for two or more children. Held from 10:00am - 12:00 noon on varying dates in Suite 810 Jones (Take the "Jones" elevator to 8th floor). Call (312) 942-2336 to register.

Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC)
This class covers advantages of VBAC, decision-making and labor support for couples who decide to attempt VBAC. Dates vary. Held in the Women's and Children's Resource Center, Suite 810 Jones. Fee is $35. Call (312) 942-2336 to register.

Therapeutic Massage
The Women's and Children's Resource Center offers relaxing, restorative massages in a private, nurturing environment. Massage therapists offer Swedish and deep tissue massages. A wide variety of complemental techniques are also available upon request. The Women's and Children's Resource Center is in Room 810 of the Jones Building, 1653 W.
