Clinical Services at Rush Breast Cancer

The Coleman Foundation Comprehensive Breast Cancer Clinic is part of the Rush University Cancer Center at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois

A breast cancer diagnosis can be scary and life-changing for you and your family. Whether you’re worried about your risk, are concerned about a lump in your breast or are newly diagnosed with breast cancer, Rush has the services and support to help you.

At Rush, we treat the whole person, not just the cancer. Many patients receive care at our Coleman Foundation Comprehensive Breast Cancer Clinic. At the clinic, you will meet with several experts in a single appointment and leave with a well-defined diagnosis and treatment plan. With our arsenal of innovative biological therapies, advanced chemotherapy approaches, the latest radiation therapies, surgical options and complementary therapies, we create a treatment plan that’s tailor-made for you.

If you have a suspected or diagnosed cancer, we are here to help. Call (888) 352-RUSH (7874) to schedule an initial visit or a second opinion.

Diagnosis

For early detection of breast cancer, regular screening mammograms for women over the age of 40 still remain the best option. But research shows that where you get your mammogram also makes a difference: A mammogram is only as good as the radiologist who analyzes or reads it. That’s why the Regenstein Breast Imaging Center at Rush is staffed by radiologists who specialize in breast imaging.

The center is actually two separate spaces with the Rush Professional Building: a screening center for women who need routine mammograms, and a diagnostic center for women who come in for follow-up or after a diagnosis of breast cancer. Having distinct screening and diagnostic suites allows us to better tailor our services and make your appointments as stress-free as possible. Both centers use the latest imaging technology, and both are designed for your convenience and comfort.

Treatment

Rush offers a full range of treatments for breast cancer, from standard therapies to innovative treatment options, and new options are being explored every day.

Clinical Trials

Through our active research program, you may be eligible to enroll in one of our many breast cancer research studies. For more information about the trials we are currently offering, see our Cancer Clinical Trials page.
