The top two floors of the Johnston R. Bowman Health Center offer one- and two-bedroom private residences for older people in good health. One-bedroom apartments rent for $795-$840 per month, utilities included. Subsidies for one-bedroom apartments may be available for older adults with limited assets and low income. Two-bedroom units rent for $1,040-$1,130 per month. No subsidy is available for the two-bedroom units.

These comfortable, secure apartments include individually controlled air conditioning and heat, as well as kitchens or kitchenettes. The fully carpeted residences provide views of the Chicago skyline and offer convenient access to a variety of services, including recreational programs, a chapel and outpatient medical care.

Residents must be age 62 or older and be able to live independently. A short-term residential program is also available for older people seeking a “home away from home” for two to 30 days.
