Hemophilia & Thrombophilia Center |
|
|
Program Description The Hemophilia and Thrombophilia Center (HTC) at Rush is the largest hemophilia and thrombophilia program in Illinois, offering a full menu of clinical and laboratory services onsite for patients with bleeding and clotting disorders. Our federally funded program collaborates with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation, the National Hemophilia Foundation and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide state-of-the-art, family-focused, culturally sensitive medical, psychological and social services.
Services Provided
The HTC treats patients with hemophilia, other hereditary coagulation factor deficiencies, von Willebrand disease and platelet disorders, as well as patients with thrombosis and thrombophilia. To make it easier for patients to access our services, we offer diagnosis and treatment services at the main Rush University Medical Center campus near downtown Chicago, and at five regional outreach locations in Aurora, Hoffman Estates, Kankakee, Joliet and Urbana Champaign.
Clinical Team
Hemophilia and Thrombophilia present complex clinical, psychological and social problems. Providing optimal care to patients with these diseases is beyond the knowledge and skill of any one practitioner. State-of-the-art care can only be provided by a multidisciplinary team that includes physician specialists, nurses, psychologists, physical therapists and others.
