Clinical Trial Investigator Name
Richard Prinz, MD

Clinical Trial Title
Survey Concerning the Quality of Life of Patients Before and After Parathyroid Surgery

Clinical Trial Protocol Description

The purpose of this research study is to compare the quality of life of parathyroid surgery patients before and after a parathyroid operation to gain a better understanding of the needs of patients who undergo this surgery. A survey is to be completed both before the operation and then within one month after. A follow-up survey will need to be done after three months and again at six months. If these times do not fit in with the patient’s office visits, the survey can be done over the phone. Questions will inquire about the participant’s physical capabilities as well as emotional state.

Clinical Trial Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this trial, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Require parathyroid surgery
  • Be under the care of a surgeon at Rush for the treatment of a parathyroid disorder.

This is a partial list of eligibility requirements.
