Survey of the Emotional State of Patients Before and After Parathyroid Surgery

Clinical Trial Protocol Description

This study will compare the emotional state of patients before and after parathyroid surgery, paying particular attention to depression. Participants will be asked to complete a survey before and within one month after surgery, and again at three and six months. If the survey dates do not coincide with the participant’s regular office visits, the survey can be done by phone.

Clinical Trial Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for participation in this study, you must:

Be at least 18 years of age
Require parathyroid surgery
Be under the care of a surgeon at Rush for the treatment of a parathyroid disorder
