The purpose of this study is to evaluation the safety of an investigational drug to lower blood pressure in children between the ages of 6 and 17 years.

• Male or female 6 to 17 years of age with mean, sitting systolic blood pressure between 95^th percentile + 20 mmHg and/or mean, sitting diastolic blood pressure between 95^th percentile + 10 mmHg
• Signed informed consent
• Absence of cardiovascular, diabetes mellitus, nephrotic syndrome, or endocrine dysfunction or bleeding disorder
• Able to be off antihypertensive medications for one period, between two to six weeks
