What to Expect
What to Do the Night Before
You should not eat for at least four hours before the test. If you take medications in the morning, ask your physician about taking them before the test. If your physician wants you to take your medications, you may use a small amount of water to help you swallow them.
If you smoke, you may be asked to not smoke for a period of several hours before the procedure. The nicotine in cigarette smoke may cause spasm in the coronary arteries, which could affect the test results.

It is important to arrive at your scheduled time. Your procedure may not begin immediately due to varying lengths of procedures scheduled before your procedure. You will be updated as frequently as possible.
Preparing for the Procedure in the Hospital
- Consent forms - Your physician will explain exercise RNA, its purpose, any risks, and the expected outcome before the procedure. You should read through the consent carefully before signing it. If you have any questions or need more information, ask your physician.
