Preparing for the Procedure in the Hospital
- Description of IV, site preparations, and medications that may be administered - No intravenous line (IV) or medication is required for vascular studies. Whether or not you will need to remove any clothing will depend what part of the body is being studied. For the neck, your shirt or blouse should not have to be removed unless the neck opening is too tight for adequate exposure to the doppler transducer. If your legs are being studied, you will need to remove your pants and socks or stockings.
- Consent forms - A consent form is not necessary, but a physician's order is necessary.
