Theodore J. Saclarides, MD
Professor of Surgery
Head, Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery
Dr. Saclarides was born and raised in Clearwater, Fla., and received
his undergraduate education in chemistry and mathematics at Vanderbilt
University. He later attended the University of Miami School of Medicine,
graduating in 1982. He then completed a residency in general surgery
at Rush Medical College in Chicago and a fellowship in colon and rectal
surgery at the Mayo Clinic. He is currently a professor of surgery
at Rush Medical College and head of the Section of Colon and Rectal
Surgery. He serves on the editorial board of several surgical journals
and is a member of the National Ultrasound Faculty for the American
College of Surgeons. He has lectured
throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and other parts of Europe. He has authored
several books and over 100 manuscripts, abstracts and chapters.
