Najia Shakoor, MD

Najia Shakoor, MD, is an associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Rush Medical College and serves as an attending physician at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Shakoor is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and the Arthritis Foundation. Her research interests include understanding the biomechanics of and developing improved strategies for the treatment of osteoarthritis. She has received research support from prestigious funding organizations, including the American College of Rheumatology Research & Education Foundation and the Association of Sub-specialty Physicians/Hartford Foundation. Dr. Shakoor’s work has been published in journals such as Arthritis and Rheumatism and The Lancet.

Dr. Shakoor received her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in rheumatology at Rush.
