Neurostar Bi-Plane Digital Angiography Unit, a recently
installed state-of-the-art PET Scanner, a GE Signa 1.5T
MR Scanner and two GE 9800 CT Scanners. Our outpatient
facility also features a GE Signa 1.5T MR Scanner as
well as two Siemens Somatom Plus CT Scanners. Over the
last 5 years, we have performed, on the average, 5,534
CT scans and 4,724 MR scans annually. We perform a wide
range of interventional procedures, including diagnostic
and interventional neuroangiography (366 cases/yr.),
myelography (378 cases/yr.) and a variety of spinal
interventional procedures including spine biopsy,
discography, nerve blocks and epidural injections.
There is a wealth of pathology at Rush. Our Neurology
Department is nationally known, featuring centers of
epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis,
stroke and movement disorders. Equally strong is Orthopedics,
featuring a center for scoliosis and spinal reconstructive
surgery. Neurosurgery and ENT are strong departments as well,
referring a wide variety of cranial, head/neck and skull
base cases. There is a high volume of vascular work. We
participated in the NASCET study.
The faculty is led by Michael Huckman, M.D., Director.
Members include Sharon Byrd, M.D., pediatric neuroradiologist,
Dean Elias, M.D., general neuroradiologist specializing
