Clinical Exposure
All patients at Rush and the affiliated hospitals are available for the teaching experience. Clinical exposure encompasses a broad scope of musculoskeletal problems, including:
- joint replacement
- spine surgery
- pediatric orthopedics
- orthopedic oncology
- cartilage transplantation
- trauma
- sports injuries
- hand surgery
- foot and ankle surgery
- surgery for arthritis
Outpatient exposure is extensive and is provided in the private offices of the attending staff in the professional building on the Rush University Medical Center campus and in the nearby River City complex. The attending staff at Rush consists of 28 full-time and two part-time board-certified orthopedic surgeons. All orthopedic subspecialties are represented by academic and clinical leaders in their respective fields.
