Resident and Program Evaluation
Residents are evaluated after the completion of each rotation by faculty and senior residents on the team. These evaluations are available for individual residents to review. On a biannual basis, the program director and/or the director of residency evaluation complete a formal review with each resident.
The OITE exam, a comprehensive written examination in orthopedic surgery, is taken by all residents annually. The results are reviewed with each resident, analyzing their individual strengths and weaknesses. Self-study programs are developed for residents as needed.
The program director and the faculty are open to new ideas and approaches that will ensure an ongoing quality residency experience. The biannual critique session provides a genuine opportunity for interchange among attendings and residents to share ideas and implement change.
