Continuing Medical Education
Continuing medical education is an integral component of the educational mission of the Department of Ophthalmology at Rush. Our educational activities range from basic reviews to "cutting edge" curriculum in an effort to inform health care professionals of the most advanced diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical management options for ophthalmic diseases.
In February, the department holds an annual comprehensive Clinical Review Course, covering all of clinical ophthalmology and surgical management over a two-year cycle. It is an excellent OKAPS preparatory course. Specialty groups within the department regularly conduct CME courses on vitreo-retinal diseases, glaucoma and refractive surgery. As part of the monthly staff conference, Grand Rounds are held. Audio/Visual materials as well as ancillary written reference materials enhance each learning activity. CME credit is available for ophthalmologists attending these conferences.
The ophthalmology department is pleased to offer the following continuing
medical education conferences for the 2006/2007 academic year:
16th Annual Rush Ophthalmology Clinical Review
March 2-4 and 9-11, 2007
3rd Annual Resident and Alumni Day
