The Nephrology Fellowship program at Rush University Medical Center is committed to providing the finest subspecialty training in Nephrology available anywhere in the country. Our comprehensive program focuses on clinical nephrology and clinical research and prepares the trainee for all aspects of a career in the clinical practice of nephrology.

The fellowship is a two-year program, with three fellows at each level.

The primary teaching institution for the subspecialty program is Rush University Medical Center (RUMC). RUMC is a 1,000-bed tertiary care teaching hospital where the subspecialty fellows participate in rotations on the 1) in-patient nephrology consult service, 2) in-patient nephrology transplant service, 3) renal pathology, 4) pediatric nephrology and 5) interventional radiology. Fellows also rotate through the 1) out-patient hemodialysis unit, 2) out-patient peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis clinics, as well as their 3) out-patient nephrology continuity clinics: all located at the practice’s primary office located about one quarter mile from RUMC at 1426 W. Washington Blvd.
