The Rush campus is located just a few miles west of downtown, where buildings designed by some of the world's greatest architects -- Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Sullivan -- grace the 29-mile skyline along Lake Michigan. Many famous cultural institutions, such as the Lyric Opera, the Art Institute, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Museum of Contemporary Art are easily accessible.
For more information about the Chicago community, please see the City of Chicago's Web page and the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau Web site.
Rush's main campus is in the middle of the Illinois Medical District, one of the largest medical districts in the world. Within a few blocks are several other medical institutions, including John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, the University of Illinois Medical Center and the VA Chicago Healthcare System, Westside Division. The medical center is also within walking distance of some of the most charming ethnic neighborhoods in the city, including Little Italy and Greek Town, both known for their wonderful cuisine.
