F. Fellow Advisor Program
A Fellow Advisor Program has been established to:
- Provide advice and direction related to:
- educational progress;
- career development;
- research projects;
- clinical activities;
- teaching activities;
- pursuit of post-fellowship employment.
- Develop an advocacy relationship for conflict resolution and facilitation of communication with other faculty members as needed.
Each fellow will be assigned to an ID attending physician faculty member when the fellow enters the program in July; initial assignments will be made by the Fellow Curriculum and Evaluation Committee. Faculty advisors will meet with their fellow advisee at least quarterly; the objectives outline above will form the basis of these meetings. At the end of the first six months of fellowship training, or after two advisor/advisee meetings, either the faculty member of the fellow may request a change in advisor. Where mutual/shared research interests exist, faculty advisors and their respective fellow advisees may elect to work together, however, fellows assigned as advisees are not designated to serve as research fellows for the assigned faculty advisor.
