General Practice Residency in Dentistry

Residents 2007-2008

Jorelle R. Alexander, DMD
Dr. Jorelle R. Alexander received her Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Biology from Northern Illinois University in 1996. She taught in the Chicagoland area before returning to Northern where she received her Masters of Public Health in 1999. She then was the Manager of the Pediatrics Collaborative Care Program at the American Academy of Pediatrics which dealt with children’s oral and mental health. Dr. Alexander continued her education at the University Of Louisville School Of Dental Medicine where she received a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in May, 2007.

Dr. Alexander returned to Chicago to complete her General Practice Residency at Rush University Medical Center. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the National Dental Association. She is also a National Health Service Corps Scholar. Her interests include underserved populations, hospital dentistry, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and oncology. Aside from dentistry, Jorelle enjoys community volunteer activities, cooking, travel, art, music, and dance.

Anna To, DDS
Dr. Anna To received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003. She continued her education at the University of Texas Health and Science Center – Houston Dental Branch and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in May 2007.

She chose her profession because of the artistic side of dentistry and the variety of patients she meets each day. In her spare time she enjoys painting and spending time with family and friends. After completion of her General Practice Residency, she and her fiancé will move back to Houston where the winters are much warmer. In the meantime, they are taking advantage of their time in the great city of Chicago.

Residents 2006-2007

Anthony Lieu, DMD
Dr. Anthony Lieu received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis in 2002. He continued his professional education at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2006.

Along with his fiancé, Dr. Lieu enjoys “living life with a smile”. This motto reflects his fiancés and his social and professional beliefs. He spends time barbequing jerk chicken wings, hoping to hook a fish from shore, playing basketball on defense and being dragged to Salsa lessons. He looks forward to being part of the Chicago community and landscape.

Roderic dela Cruz, DMD
Dr. Roderic dela Cruz received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago in 2002. He continued his education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in May, 2006.

His professional interests include oral surgery, prosthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. Upon completion of his General Practice Residency at Rush, Dr. dela Cruz plans to join a private practice in the Chicagoland area.
