Interview Process
We accept fellowship applications from candidates
who are presently in or have completed a 3-year ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology
residency program. Candidates should be eligible to take the ABO Board
Examination and meet the requirements for a permanent medical Illinois
license.
Applications are accepted beginning in July
until September 15th, one year prior to the proposed starting
date of the fellowship.
Applications
may be downloaded and mailed along with:
- Three letters of recommendation
- Your personal statement
- CV including:
- Any research experience
- Prior and/or continuing grant support
- American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) Status
- Diplomate or Board Eligible?
- Written and Oral Exam dates

Applicants granted interviews will be invited to visit the campus of
Rush University Medical Center and will have lunch with the current fellow,
followed by individual meetings with each of the three faculty members.
A limited number of interviews will be also offered at the American Academy
of Ophthalmology’s Annual Meeting.
