Administration

Kenneth Boyer, M.D. – Chair of Pediatrics
Dr. Boyer is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Medical School and completed his pediatric residency at the Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital and Rainbow Babies Children’s Hospital. He then went on to an Infectious Disease fellowship at UCLA. Dr. Boyer is board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. He assumed the role of Chair in the Department of Pediatrics at Rush Children’s Hospital in 2003 following three years as interim Chair. Dr. Boyer has done landmark research in the areas of Neonatal Group B Strep Infection and Congenital Toxoplasmosis. He continues to practice Pediatric Infectious Disease and is active in pediatric resident education. Dr. Boyer is the current President of the Chicago Pediatric Society.

Jane Kramer, M.D. – Program Director of Pediatrics
Dr. Kramer is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School. She completed her residency at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and is Board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She has been the director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Rush since 1988. Her honors include selection as “Outstanding Teaching Attending” by the senior residents in 1996 and 2003.

Bridget Voigt, M.D. – Associate Program Director of Pediatrics
Dr. Voigt grew up in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and completed her undergraduate degree at Notre Dame. She attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, then moved to Chicago to complete her pediatric training at Children’s Memorial Hospital where she also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Voigt is board certified in General Pediatrics, and has been an active member of the teaching faculty at Rush Children’s Hospital since 2003. She is also an outreach physician for the KidsSHIP program, bringing healthcare services to children at Chicago homeless shelters.

Keith Boyd, M.D. – Associate Chair for Education, Department of Pediatrics
Dr. Boyd is board certified in both Internal medicine and Pediatrics. Upon earning his bachelor's degree in anthropology from Amherst College, he returned to his hometown of Chicago to attend the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Before coming to Rush, he served as co-director of the Med-Peds program at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts where he completed his residency. He served as program director for the Rush Med-Peds program for eight years before assuming the role of Associate Chair for Pediatric Education, responsible for student, resident, and faculty educational programs. After a two year hiatus, Dr. Boyd has enthusiastically re-assumed the role of Med-Peds Program Director that drew him to Rush ten years ago.

Dr. Boyd is a past president of the national Med-Peds Program Director's Association and a recent recipient of the Mark Lepper Award, a student-initiated nomination for outstanding teaching at Rush Medical College. His interests include clinical ethics, practice management, and medical education.

Wendy Shulman, MEd Program Manager
Wendy Shulman, M.Ed. - Program Manager, Pediatric and Med-Peds Residency Programs A native Chicagoan, Wendy and her husband live in Oak Park where they raised two children who recently attended college in New York City, and currently reside in Brooklyn. After receiving her bachelor's degree in education at Roosevelt University, she pursued her master's degree in education at DePaul University.

Wendy has worked in the past as a special education teacher and the coordinator for volunteer services at a large medical center. Prior to her role as the Rush med-peds program administrator for eleven years, she was one of two academic coordinators for the pediatric residency program.



Kathy Robinson, Administrative Assistant, Pediatrics Residency Program
Prior to her employment at Rush, Kathy worked in computer graphics for a major Chicago area corporation. She has worked nine years as an administrative assistant for the Rush pediatric residency program. One of Kathy’s responsibilities is providing the residents with superb emotional and nutritional sustenance; she plans and orders all the lunches for pediatric resident noon conferences and manages the pediatric and med-peds Freedom Pay accounts for on-call meals.

Kathy has one sixteen year-old, football-playing son.

Eloise Coleman, Administrative Assistant to the Chairman of Pediatrics
Eloise has been in her current position for 13 years. Before joining pediatric administration at Rush, she was a secretary in the legal department of a large Chicago corporation. As part of her responsibilities Eloise assists in facilitating the credentialing of all pediatric attendings, and coordinates and schedules the Chairman’s meetings and appointments.

Eloise and her husband live on Chicago’s south side. They have one son and a new daughter-in-law.
