The Department of Anesthesiology at Rush University Medical Center, located in the heart of Chicago's West Side Medical Center District, offers a highly sophisticated and comprehensive four-year residency training program where all aspects of anesthetic care are delivered. For more than two decades, Rush's Anesthesiology Residency Training Program has been recognized as providing an outstanding and extensive experience in all subspecialty areas, with exposure to heart and liver transplants, major neurosurgical and spinal surgery, tertiary obstetrics and critical care medicine. A fellowship experience is offered for those residents seeking additional training in pain management and subspecialty tracks are also available in cardiac, obstetric, critical care, neurosurgical and ambulatory anesthesia.
For medical students, two and four week clinical rotations are available and four to eight week research rotations can also be arranged for students wishing to participate in new or ongoing research projects within the Anesthesiology Department.
